KUCHING, Sept 28: Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing announced plans to arrange a special meeting with hotel industry operators to address concerns over hotel check-in and check-out times.

In a statement today, Tiong stated that the meeting aims to discuss the issue comprehensively and reach a fair solution that balances both customer interests and the sustainability of the hospitality industry.

“It is our priority to ensure that the practices and policies implemented by hotels are in line with the interests of consumers while ensuring the survival of a competitive and sustainable hospitality industry,” he said.

Tiong is currently representing Malaysia at the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) conference held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

He assured that immediate and effective action would be taken to address the matter, emphasizing that input from all stakeholders will be considered in the decision-making process to maintain a competitive and customer-friendly hospitality industry in Malaysia. — DayakDaily
