More than 1.2 million Sarawakians have registered for Covid-19 vaccination

KUCHING, Mar 17: A total of 1,223,080 individuals have registered for the Covid-19 vaccination programme throughout Sarawak as of today (March 17).

The statistics were disclosed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today.


SDMC said out of that amount, 788,012 individuals registered through the Divisional Resident Office while the balance of 435,068 individuals registered through the MySejahtera App.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme in Sarawak kicked off on February 26 with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg among the first to be inoculated.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme in Sarawak is divided into three phases to be implemented from February to August 2021.

Phase one of the immunisation programme, to be carried out from the end of February to March will involve 97,161 frontliners.

Phase two of the immunisation programme, to be implemented from April to May 2021 will involve 956,435 elderly and high-risk groups of citizens with and without comorbidities.

Phase three of the vaccination programme, from May to August 2021 will be for 999,834 individuals who are 18 years old and above. —DayakDaily
