BAU, May 20: More outreach and roadshow programmes with Perkeso will be held in Puncak Borneo to disseminate information about the facilities provided by the agency.
Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Datuk Willie Mongin said such programmes will also coincide with the Jobs Carnival programmes.
He said such programmes would help job seekers to find employment while at the same time provide useful information about the facilities provided by Perkeso.
“There are several beneficial facilities and assistance provided by Perkeso but not many people in this area are aware of it, so together with Perkeso, we will have more outreach and roadshow programmes to come together with the Jobs Carnival programme,” Willie, who is also Puncak Borneo MP told reporters today.
He had earlier officiated at the opening of the Job Carnival programme at Kpg Skio, here in Serembu constituency.
Willie added that the Jobs Carnival programme was necessary to provide employment to people who might have lost their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said on his part, such programmes would continue to be held in Mambong and Tarat constituencies which are under Puncak Borneo.
He hoped that Perkeso can have such programmes throughout the state to help the jobless, particularly youths to have a decent jobs.
Meanwhile, the two day programme at Kpg Skio saw nine companies taking part, offering more than 600 jobs.
Present at the function was Perkeso director Philip Sangkan, among others. — DayakDaily
