Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah is new Kuching District police chief

KUCHING, Aug 13: ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah has been appointed as the new Kuching District police chief.

According to a TVS news report yesterday (Aug 12), Mohd Farhan will be replacing ACP Ahsmon Bajah, who will begin his duties at the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters.

The ceremony to hand over duties was held at the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters with Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata as its witness.

Mohd Farhan, 55, who is from Setiawan, Perak, started serving on the police force in 1993. He was previously the district police chief in Semporna, Sabah.

He expressed his commitment to providing the best service to the local community, besides hoping to shoulder the responsibility and trust given to him.

“I hope to maintain the effort by my predecessor and perhaps improve that effort as long as possible.

“With the community’s cooperation, I am confident that IPD Kuching can do its best,” he said to reporters after the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Mancha is confident Mohd Farhan is capable of shouldering the responsibility entrusted to him and hoped that all parties support him.

Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Ibrahim Darus and Kuching District police deputy chief Superintendent Merbin Lisa also attended the ceremony. — DayakDaily
