MoH: 31 new Covid-19 cases recorded nationwide

KUCHING, June 11: The Ministry of Health (MoH) disclosed there were 31 new Covid-19 cases reported today, with zero fatalities recorded.

Its director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said that from the 31 new cases reported, 11 are imported cases, while 20 are local transmissions.

“From the 20 local spread cases, 19 of them involved foreigners, while one case, which involved a Malaysian was recorded from a tahfiz school in Kuala Selangor.

“However, no death was reported from the ministry’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), and the death toll due to Covid-19 remains at 118 (1.41 per cent),” he said in a press conference on Covid-19 in Putrajaya, today.

Dr Noor Hisham also said that a total of 51 Covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals, which bring the total cumulative recovered and discharged patients to 7,065 (84.4 per cent).

He added that another 1,186 Covid-19 cases are still active, whereby they have been isolated and are being treated in hospitals.

“As of today, five cases are currently being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), and all of them do not need a respiratory assistance,” he said. — DayakDaily
