KUCHING, March 8: National Security Council (NSC) Sarawak in collaboration with Sarawak Energy Berhad will be conducting a mock drill exercise at Batang Ai hydroelectric dam on March 14 to 16 as part of disaster management preparedness.
NSC Sarawak has urged the public in the vicinity of Sri Aman, Engkilili and Lubok Antu not to panic when they hear sirens and mass movement of emergency vehicles on the streets.
In a media release today, NSC Sarawak said that the drill exercise would simulate real-life crises involving attacks, assaults and riots.
It will also involve emergency vehicles from the police, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Health Department and other related agencies.
With that, the public are also advised to stay away from the area on the three days so as to not disrupt the drill exercise. — DayakDaily
