Missing Selangau boy found safe

KUCHING, March 21: A boy who was reported missing after failing to return home when playing outside his longhouse in Selangau since March 18 has been found safe.

According to a report by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Selangau district operation control centre (PKOD), the boy was found within a 50-metre radius at the back of the house.

The report stated the boy, 12-year-old Desmond Irang Julia, was found at 10.55am today, and the search and rescue (SAR) operation ended at 11.10am.

Earlier, it was reported that the victim went to play outside his long house at Rumah Lang Nanga Meruan Dijih at 5pm on March 18.

When he failed to return home, a police report was lodged at 8am this morning, prompting a SAR operation to be launched today. — DayakDaily
