Missing Lubok Antu woman, 56, found safe after two days

Search and Rescue team found Lina at Kampung Stapang, about 3km away from where she was last seen.

Lubok Antu, Oct 30: A 56-year-old woman, who was reported missing two days ago, has been found by the search and rescue personnel and volunteer villagers today.

The victim identified as Lina Entika from Batu Kaya, who was understood to be suffering from depression, was found in a very weak condition.

“Her husband realised she was missing on Monday (Oct 28) at about 3pm. After failing to locate her at a nearby jungle next to their house, villagers came to assist in the search,” the Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement.

It added that villagers and family members continued the search the next day, but they failed to find her, prompting her husband to lodge a missing person report at the Lubok Antu police station at 3pm today.

Three firefighters from Betong were dispatched to the scene, located about 71km from the fire station.

A search and reach team consisting of firefighters, police and villagers was immediately set up.

They successfully found Lina at Kampung Stapang at 4.35pm, about 3km away from where she was last seen.

She was later rushed to a clinic nearby for a medical check-up. — DayakDaily
