Missing hunter found safe in Matu Dato

The search parties consisting of local folks and firefighters searching for the missing hunter in the nearby forest, yesterday (11 Dec, 2020).

KUCHING, Dec 11: A local hunter, reported to be missing, was found safe by search parties in Sungai Tebu, along Matu Daro road yesterday.

According to Daro Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement, the station received an emergency call about a missing person report at 10.05pm and deployed a team of six firefighters led by PBK II Sofian Yusup, to the location.

“After gathering information about the missing person from the locals, firefighters proceed to conduct a surface searching together with members of the public in the nearby forest.

“The victim was found at 11.10pm, in a weak condition, by the search party who went out searching earlier, about three kilometres away from the roadside, and was brought to the Kampung Tian clinic by family members for further treatment,” it said.

The statement noted the 25-year-old man, from Rumah Anyut, Bruan Tutus in Matu, went out for a hunting trip in the nearby forest and would normally return home in the afternoon.

“After failing to return home, worried family members then informed the local folks and an initial search effort was carried out for about three hours, but to no avail, and which later prompted for the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
