BETONG, Nov 12: Rescuers have yet to locate missing Andun Jabu, 77, who was reported missing after failing to return home from her farm since Nov 10.
Search and rescue (SAR) team led by Betong fire chief PPgB Vincent Yabi with nine firefighters including its K9 unit, 20 villagers, eight civil defense personnel and four police started the second-day operation at 8.45am.
With the help of one canine by the name of Daisy, they searched possible areas identified by the victim’s children including peat swamps up to as far as one kilometer away from her longhouse Rh Sibat, Kampung Penurin.
As at 5.10pm, Andun is still missing.
Due to dark and rainy weather, SAR operation will be resumed tomorrow.
On Nov 10, Andun left her longhouse on her own to their family farm located some 500 meters away in Batu Api area.
Failing to return home the next day, her family members lodged a missing person report at Betong police district. – DayakDaily
