Missing elderly woman found safe in Sg Merah police station

Rescuers looking for the elderly woman who was reported missing from her home at Taman Indah, Sibu.

KUCHING, April 6: A 73-year-old woman reported missing from her home in Taman Indah, Sibu was found safe at a police station.

Randau Ringgit was last seen by her family at midnight on April 5.

Sungai Merah fire station chief PKPGB Suna Kaha in a statement disclosed that the firefighters received the alert at 11.52am today.


Rescuers began their search and rescue (SAR) operations behind the victim’s house and around the housing area of about 700 square meters.

At 3.25pm, a man by the name of M. Azmi informed the authorities that he met an elderly woman earlier and sent her to the Sungai Merah police station.

SAR operations commander PBK II Rorudi Umas immediately despatched three officers to the police station to check on the identity of the said woman.

It was later confirmed that the woman who was sent to the police station was the missing person reported by her family. — DayakDaily
