KUCHING, Sept 28: An 83-year-old man from Kampung Slabi Empurung in Serian who was reported missing was found dead yesterday (Sept 28).
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, the body of Jambung Ajui was found by the search team at 2.10pm, about one kilometre from the Bomba operations control centre.
The deceased’s body was later handed over to the police for further action.
The victim was reported missing on September 21 by his son as he failed to return home after going out at 8am.
Following that, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched by Bomba together with the police, Civil Defence Force (APM), People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), and villagers. — DayakDaily
