SRI AMAN, July 31: A 75-year-old man who was been reported missing since Wednesday (July 29) was found dead along Jalan Sinjor, about 1.5 kilometres from his home, here on Thursday (July 30).
In a statement, Sri Aman police chief, Supt Dennis Bunyam, the victim, identified as Madang Imban from Rumah Anjar, Rumah Panjang Sinjor, Pasir Panas, left his home without his family’s knowledge in the early hours of Wednesday.
He said family members, together with villagers, had conducted a search but failed to locate the victim before a police report was lodged at 7.45am on Wednesday.
“Following the report, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was activated at 9am, involving the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), and villagers,” he said, as reported by TVS.
At about 11.10am on Thursday, the SAR team found the victim lying face up in a bushy area at the end of Jalan Sinjor. He said an initial external examination of the victim’s body found no signs of injury.
The victim’s body was then taken to the Forensic Unit of Hospital Sri Aman II for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. — DayakDaily
