Miri to hold celebrations from Oct 4-9 in conjunction with Governor’s birthday, Maulidur Rasul celebrations

KUCHING, Sept 26: Miri city will see a series of official celebrations and events planned next month in conjunction with State-level celebration for Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Prophet Muhammad’s birthdays.

Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang disclosed this in a statement after chairing Miri City Council (MCC) Ordinary Meeting today.

“There will be a series of official celebrations and events being planned from Oct 4 to 9.


“The finalised details of the celebrations will be announced by the main organising committee in due course,” he said.

Another event worth looking forward to is Kuala Baram (Cycling) Race 2022 (KBR2022) organised by MCC in collaboration with Masterpiece Cycling Club, which will be held on Oct 16.

“The Race will start from Jalan Lutong, Kuala Baram at a point in front of Crocodile Farm riding towards Jalan Marigold Traffic Light Junction.

“Then, (the participants) will take an U-turn back to Jalan Lutong, Kuala Baram and end at a point in front of Crocodile Farm,” he added.

Yii said MCC will also hold Miri Integrity Run in conjunction with Integrity Month 2022 on November 26.

The event will be jointly organised by MCC’s Section for Sustainable Development Goals, MCC Social and Recreation Club and Bulatan Park Runner Club. — DayakDaily
