MIRI, Nov 6: The Miri Sentral Bus Terminal project along the Miri Bypass Road is expected to be completed by end of December this year, says Minister for Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.
Currently, he added, the RM26 million project is about 97 per cent completed.
Lee disclosed this today after visiting the project site.
“The construction should be finish by next month, and before handing over this project to Miri City Council (MCC), the contractor needs to do some to rectification works,” he told the local media.
Also present was Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang who is also Pujut assemblyman.
The new bus terminal will be an essential long distance transportation hub for Miri as it also houses 21 bus bays which can also accomodate tourist buses.
Lee revealed that in future, the terminal might also host buses arriving from Indonesia.
Other facilities including parking spaces, including for e-hailing vehicles.
On another matter, Lee disclosed that his ministry have submitted proposals for the extension of three roads, namely Jalan Cahaya, Pujut Link Road and Jalan Padang Kerbau. — DayakDaily
