Miri politician’s luxury car smashed by unknown individual

MIRI,Nov 17: The luxury car of a local politician has been smashed.

The image of a man smashing a weigh-lifting iron onto the politician’s Mercedes-Benz parked at a hotel parking compound was caught by the hotel’s CCTV camera on Saturday evening.

The unknown individual was saw approaching the car and smashed the front window before walking away around 8.08pm.

The car is owned by the chairman of Pujut Branch of a prominent local party.

The discovery was made by the 47 year-old politician after a dinner at hotel’s restaurant at around 10.30pm.

A police report on the incident has been lodged on the same evening.

Discovered near the scene was a weigh-lifting iron of 0.5kg, believed to have been used in the incident.

“I do not want to speculate on what has driven the incident. Let’s the police investigate,” the politician said when asked if there were someone trying to send some political messages to him.

Currently, the motive is unknown as investigation is underway. — DayakDaily
