KUCHING, Oct 7: The Miri Traffic Police Station will be offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on traffic summons payments starting tomorrow (Oct 8) until Oct 10 with counters open from 9am to 4pm.
In a notice, the Sarawak Contingent Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department said that the promotion was initiated in conjunction with the Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s birthday celebration.
In general, summons discount would be applicable for various traffic offenses, except for running red lights, accidents, using emergency lane, modification of vehicle exhausts, overtaking on double lines, overtaking dangerously, offences under trial (marked ‘M’), involving heavy vehicles (marked ‘^’) and non-compoundable offences.
As such, road users in Miri with unpaid or outstanding summonses should take this opportunity to clear the payment at a discounted rate. — DayakDaily
