Miri police hunting three men suspected of snatch theft

MIRI, Jan 29: Police are tracking down three men suspected of snatching a pouch bag from a local man near Emart Tudan last Friday (Jan 24) morning.

According to Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol, the incident took placed around 10am moments after the 43-year-old victim exited from the fish market inside Emart Tudan here.


“While strolling along the area, making an exit from the market, he was approached by three unknown men, one of whom later on grabbed his (the victim’s) pouch bag and fled the scene,” said Sabri.

A police report was lodged today and not on the day of the incident, because the victim had no transport to go to the police station.

In the incident, the victim was almost fell to the ground, but managed to steady himself by grabbing onto a roadside barrier.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang-robbery. — DayakDaily
