Miri police call 8 teens to give statement on viral bullying video

MIRI, Oct 16: Police here yesterday have called at least eight teenage boys to have their statements recorded after a 19-second video of a bullying incident at a compound of a house, went viral.

The teens are aged between 13 to 17-years-old.

The police revealed that they would be conducting an investigation regarding the incident.


According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the police received a report regarding the incident on Sunday (Oct 15) at 11.33am in Taman Tunku.

“We are aware of the matter and so far the case is at the stage of detailed investigation,” he said.

At the same time, the public is also advised not to make any speculations regarding the video.

The case is being investigates under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. — DayakDaily
