KUCHING, March 18: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) of Sabah and Sarawak vice president Dr. Michael Teo Yu Keng pledged his full support to the party and its leadership under President Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Dr. Teo in a press statement today said he will continue to stand firmly with PKR and the leadership of President Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to fight for truth, democratic reform and social justice for all.
“I, Dr. Teo Yu Keng, as Member of Parliament for Miri and PKR Vice President of Sabah and Sarawak, strongly affirms unwavering and principled position that I will remain with PKR and fully support the leadership of President Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
Dr. Teo noted he has received multiple attempts from certain parties who are trying to undermine the democratic process in the country, including to lure him into jumping ships, abandoning PKR and betraying the party president.
“However, my personal standard conviction remains strong and reaffirms that under no circumstances will I be coerced or bought by any party,” he assured.
According to Dr. Teo, he strongly believed that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim is a leader of integrity, who has fought relentlessly for decades for reform and justice for all.
He said Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the only leader with a formula to deliver Malaysia from the current economic, health and socio-political chaos that has engulfed the nation.
“I believe that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim has the vision, leadership and principles to steer our country through these stormy seas. I believe he can unite our multicultural society and promote true respect and harmony between our people from various races and religions, so we can live together peacefully and productively.
I also believe he (Anwar) can bring transformation to all of Sarawak and Malaysia, from a socioeconomic, health, education and development perspective, especially in the area of sustainable rural development in Sarawak,” he added.
Dr. Teo also pointed out that too many have betrayed Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR and the “Rakyat” over the past 21 years.
“However, I will never be part of this group of traitors and will stand firm with Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PKR, no matter what challenges lie ahead,” he said. – DayakDaily.
