MIRI, Nov 21: Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni and Sarawak Covid-19 Awareness Group presented 50 units of oximeters to Miri Divisional Health Office represented by Family Health expert Dr Chan Yuen Ching today.

The oximeters would later be channelled to Miri Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC).

According to Sarawak Covid-19 Awareness Group, it launched the Oximeter Loan Scheme (SPO) which aims to channel the oximeters to CACs under the divisional health offices statewide.

“This is important so that the oximeters will be lent to Covid-19 patients undergoing home quarantine or issued House Surveillance Order (HSO).

“With the oximeters, Covid-19 patients can monitor their health effectively,” it said in a statement today.

As of today, the group has raised RM45,450 from its members and the general public for the procurement of oximeters.

The group had channeled the 50 oximeters to CACs in Simunjan, Saratok, Bau, Limbang, Lawas, Sarikei and Betong. The next batch of CACs which will receive oximeters are those in Belaga, Tatau, Selangau, Marudi and others.

At the same time, Lukanisman hoped that the small effort would be able to save the lives of those in need. — DayakDaily
