KUCHING, Nov 21: Senior Work Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof said a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) victory in the coming State Election would ensure a stable government which can continue development for Sarawak, as well as support for the people and business sector.

According to Fadillah, the Melaka state election results show clearly that the Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) who are part of Pakatan Harapan (PH) did not get support because of PH’s performance during its 22 months in power.

ā€œI am confident that only through GPS, will we be able to provide the stability and continue the development plans, as well as claim Sarawak’s rights in Malaysia,ā€ he said.

Fadillah told this to reporters after attending the ceremony to celebrate the first anniversary of the Matang Taiji Qigong Shibasi Club at a multipurpose hall in Sungai Tengah Matang here, today.

Fadillah asserted Sarawak is the only State in Malaysia which is politically stable, and this stability has enabled the State to continue to be developed.

He said even when the previous PH federal government did not provide assistance and cancelled projects in Sarawak, the Sarawak government continued to develop and fund the projects out of its own coffers.

He pointed out that this proves the capability of the Sarawak government and has become an example for other states in the peninsula.

ā€œThat is why stability and unity is important as it is the foundation and strength for us in Sarawak. I hope we can continue to maintain this so that we can focus on the development of our State and providing the best to the people of Sarawak,ā€ he added.

Earlier on, Fadillah presented a cheque for RM6 million to SKJ(C) Chung Hua Batu 11 Matang.

Also present was Tupong incumbent Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman. ā€” DayakDaily
