MIRI, Oct 27: The Ministry of Health (MoH) approved an allocation of RM5 million for the acquisition and purchase of medical and non-medical assets along with a one-unit vehicle for the use of the Miri City Health Clinic, as well as 147 posts.
Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni added that in addition, the Miri Health Office also completed the procurement of security control contracts with a value of RM469,277 and RM447,360 for the procurement of cleaning services for a period of eight months, while the procurement for ICT equipment has also been implemented with a value of RM429,760.
The posts include family medicine specialists (2 positions), medical officers (26 positions), clinical support positions such as assistant medical officers, nurses, dietetic officers, rehabilitation officers, and physiotherapy officers (82 positions), and others (37 positions).
“This shows the government’s commitment to improving the quality of health services. Therefore, all MoH personnel at every level must ensure that this allocation is fully utilised through programmes and projects that have been planned for the welfare of the people,” he said.
He said this after witnessing the handing over of the clinic’s key, a symbolic ceremony upon the completion of the project, by the contractor to the Miri Health Divisional office today.
Also present were Minister of Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting, and Miri MP Chiew Choon Man. — DayakDaily
