Miri City Council approves 10 locations for Ramadan bazaars with 570 stalls

MIRI, March 17: Miri City Council (MCC) has approved 10 locations with as many as 570 stalls for the upcoming Ramadan bazaars this year.

According to a press statement today, MCC will operate three bazaars at the Indoor Stadium with 158 stalls, New World Mart Lutong’s car park (35 stalls), and Medan Saberkas (195 stalls).

Seven other bazaars to be operated by the private sector and associations are located at Miri Sri Camp’s Darul Ridzuan Mosque compound with 10 stalls, Bintang Megamall entrance (10 stalls), Permy Mall car park (40 stalls), Emart Riam car park (10 stalls), Surau Al-Hidayah Tab Cinaq (16 stalls), MYY Mall Lutong car park (56 stalls), and Pujut 7 Commercial Centre (40 stalls).


MCC emphasised that all foods sold at Ramadan bazaars should be halal.

With that, MCC urged all operators of food and beverage stalls to exert high levels of hygiene and comply with public health requirements while preparing their consumable products.

Operators should also comply with all requirements as laid down by the Council for handling their sales items.

The Council’s enforcement personnel and officers from the health authority will conduct random checking and inspection of the Ramadan bazaars. — DayakDaily
