Miri Buddhist Association receives RM115,000 from Unifor

KUCHING, Nov 20: The Miri Buddhist Association received an allocation of RM115,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) to upgrade its facilities.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin presented the cheque to the association’s committee members yesterday.

“The Sarawak government through Unifor allocates funds every year to non-Muslim places of worship in the state.

“Sarawak is also known as a model state in the country in terms of religious harmony and unity among the people,” he said.

Lee, who is also Senadin incumbent, noted that Sarawakians do not face problems in terms of religion.
