KUCHING, June 16: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu’s (PBB) future looks bright after its recent electoral success and top leadership showing vision, ability, initiative and determination, said political pundit Dato Peter Minos.

“It will lead Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Sarawak and its people well. Sarawak, in turn, will see more economic, social development and progress.

“That is at least how I see the shape of things ahead for PBB and GPS, that PBB leads,” he said in a statement today.

Minos noted that Sarawak must also be economically equal to Malaya and Sabah and in all other aspects of life.

He emphasise that there also must be both political and economic justice, working in tandem.

However, Minos, who is also Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman, pointed out that there will inevitably be continued challenges to be faced such as recovering from the adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Apart from that, he said another challenge for PBB and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is the time and effort needed in developing and bettering the economic sector.

He also said Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s big push on new industries such as hydrogen, solar, green energy, water based, health products and so many others will definitely bear fruit but a lot of grit and focus are needed on top of the planning and strategies, including the people’s cooperation and contribution.

“Lastly, the struggle to get more money from Petronas as well as from the Federal government must go on.

“Sarawak must and will get more from its own oil and gas resources because it is not enough that Sarawak is equal constitutionally to Malaya and Sabah,” he said. — DayakDaily
