KUCHING, June 5: Sarawak is doing the right thing by not adopting the retrogressive stance of so-called anti-English language groups in West Malaysia, says political pundit Dato Peter Minos.
In a statement today, he said using both English and BM in official communication like Sarawak does is the best and wisest way.
“I cannot understand why some big (influential) people in Malaya are dead against (the) English (language), knowing full well that English is an extremely vital global language of commerce and industry, ideas and knowledge, computers and IT, arts and culture, finance and banking, law and diplomacy, and so on.”
Minos added that no matter what these groups do, Sarawak must not follow and must not listen to them.
“We in Sarawak have none of their ways. We want to progress in all aspects of life like the rest of the world and so headlong we must go for (the) English (language)…all the way, no matter what.” — DayakDaily
