Minos: Premier a game changer for Sarawak

KUCHING, Aug 4: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is a game changer for Sarawak, says political pundit Dato Peter Minos.

According to Minos, in the economic arena, the Premier is taking full advantage of political stability and social cohesion of the people by inviting and enticing foreign investors who are coming to the State in droves.

“Foreign investments bring in the money, expertise and the industries that create jobs and income for the people and Sarawak itself.

“New industries bring in many direct and indirect benefits to Sarawak and its people. This is the foundation for a future industrialised Sarawak that will play a big role along with modern agriculture,” he said in a statement today.

Minos noted that before Abang Jo became the Premier, Sarawak has not heard of things such as green energy, hydrogen buses, ART (Autonomous Rail Transit), solar, going digital, sovereign fund and many others.

He said all this is beneficial for a growing Sarawak with its vast land and plenty of water resources, including the people who are willing to learn and improve their standard of living.

Minos, who is also Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman, pointed out that Abang Johari has also never shied away from fighting for Sarawak’s rights.

He said the Premier is relentlessly pursuing the full return of Sarawak’s powers in MA63 (Malaysia Agreement 1963), including for more money from Kuala Lumpur and Petronas.

“Of all places and regions in Malaysia, Sarawak is now the most politically stable and the fastest growing economically,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minos also conveyed his wishes to the Premier on his 72nd birthday celebration.

“We wish him continued good health and a peaceful mind so as to happily run our beloved Sarawak for a long time,” he said. — DayakDaily
