KUCHING, Dec 16: Implementation of the first phase of Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) in Kota Samarahan will pave the way for new industries such as the manufacturing and use of hydrogen, solar panels for energy and many others, says Dato Peter Minos.
According to the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman, the project implementation which involves the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) project, also reflects real progress and modernisation in Sarawak, not just in public transport but also in the mentality of Sarawakians.
“It will transform many things in Kota Samarahan, including reducing traffic congestion and parking problems, as well as play a role in the development of housing and businesses around the ART stations.
“The ART is a game changer for Samarahan,” he said.
Minos pointed out that Kota Samarahan people will also be the first to use ART by early 2025 with the launch of the first-of-its-kind project today.
“The thousands of students in Unimas and UiTM will see their lives made easier and better with ART.
“Thanks must be given to the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for making all of this a reality,” he added. — DayakDaily
