KUCHING, Feb 28: There are four rural health clinics in Sarawak under the procurement stage for upgrading projects while five clinics are in the construction phase.
Minister of Health Dr Zaliha Mustafa said that the upgrading projects in the procurement phase involved the Daro clinic in Mukah, Long Napir clinic in Limbang, Long San clinic in Baram, and Julau clinic in Sarikei.
“The projects under construction phase are Semop clinic in Mukah, Nanga Kemalih clinic in Sarikei, Lubok Antu clinic in Sri Aman, Lawas clinic and Long Busan clinic in Kapit,” she said in her responding to Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot in Parliament, Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Feb 27).
Dr Zaliha added that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has also identified the need for a new health clinic to replace Batu Niah health clinic.
“The proposed Sepupok health clinic project is still in the approval stage by the Federal government,” she said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).
Dr Zaliha gave assurance that the MOH is committed to improving the health service infrastructure including building new or upgrading existing health clinics in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
