KUCHING, April 18: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah announced that AirAsia will launch a direct flight between Kuching and Singapore by the end of this month.

He said this during a press conference held this morning in Bangunan Baitulmakmur II.

“The details will be announced soon, and for the time being, the only direct flight between Kuching and Singapore is provided by Scoot.

“So, by the end of April, we will have AirAsia coming from Singapore, making it easier for those travelling to Sarawak.

“I will lay out the details on AirAsia’s Kuching-Singapore flight during another press conference in the near future,” he said.

Abdul Karim went on to say that he believed tourism industry players were aware of what they needed to do to revitalise the industry during the three consecutive weeks in June when events like the Spartan Race Sarawak 2022, Rainforest World Music Festival 2022 (RWMF 2022), and Borneo Jazz Festival 2022 (BJF 2022) would be held.

The Spartan Race Sarawak 2022 will take place on June 11-12, the RWMF 2022 will take place on June 17-19, and the BJF 2022 will take place on June 24-26 in Miri. — DayakDaily
