TEBEDU, April 12: The construction of a mini booster pump station here will improve the existing water supply system and benefit residents of Kampung Tepoi and Kampung Darul Huda.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the cost of the project is estimated at RM400,000 and is fully funded by the Sarawak government.
The mini pump station will take six months to complete.
It will consist of a pump house, water pump, water tank, VSD (variable speed drive) generator system and other M&E (mechanical and electrical) requirements.
A ceremony was held between the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) Serian Division witnessed by Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada at Dewan Sri Sinangken, Kampung Temong Mawang yesterday (April 11).
JBALB Serian Division Engineer Khairunisa Roslan said the construction of the mini booster pump station was to improve the existing water supply system in both villages which are at the end of the grid and are situated on relatively high land.
A total of 104 houses in Kampung Tepoi and 16 houses in Kampung Darul Huda will receive the benefits of consistent water supply without affecting the existing piping system in low-lying areas, especially in Kampung Temong Mawang, Kampung Temung Mura and surrounding areas. — DayakDaily
