KUCHING, April 17: Deputy Premier Datuk Samar Dr Sim Kui Hian has announced the successful completion a 3km deep exploration on Block SK433, located onshore Sarawak, marking a significant milestone in the region’s oil and gas industry.
According to Dr Sim’s Facebook post, the second drill following the first 3km exploration had already taken place.
“(This is) very important on Sarawak’s credibility in oil and gas after 100 years of producing oil,” he said after visiting the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house by founder of Petra Energy, Tan Sri Bustari Yusuf yesterday (April 16).
Block SK433 extends from the Baram Delta into the Miri-Marudi region, encompassing northern Marudi and incorporating the Adong Kecil West discovery.
In June 18, 2021, Petra Energy secured the 29-year Petroleum Contract awarded by Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (Petros) for exploration, development and production of Petroleum in Block SK433, onshore Sarawak. — DayakDaily
