KUCHING, April 13: An early morning fire that broke out at Jalan Sultan Iskandar in Bintulu just after midnight today destroyed three houses and damaged three others, affecting 67 people.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 12.26am, and firefighters from the Bintulu station, assisted by those from the Kidurong station, were deployed.
“The operations commander reported that the incident involved six one-storey terrace houses.
“Three houses were destroyed, one was nearly destroyed with 70 per cent in damages, and two sustained damage to their ceilings and walls,” said the spokesperson.
Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters ensured that the situation was secured with no signs of reignition.
No casualties were reported in the incident. — DayakDaily
