KUCHING, March 24: Several areas in Sarawak are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 4pm today.
According to a notice by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued at 12.50pm today, the areas affected are Kuching division involving Lundu and Kuching areas, followed by Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song) and Limbang (Lawas).
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
