KUCHING, Nov 5: Thunderstorm warnings have been issued for 20 districts in Sarawak by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) this afternoon.

According to the department at 5.10pm, the affected areas are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu, Bintulu, Tatau, Sebauh, Miri, Subis, Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi.

It said thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to last until 9pm today (Nov 5).

It added that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour. — DayakDaily
