KUCHING, Feb 4: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak today.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms and heavy rain affecting Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Kanowit), Mukah (Tanjung Manis) and Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong).
The warning, issued at 1.45pm today, remains in effect until 5pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
