KUCHING, March 24: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has placed Mukah, Telang Usan, and Limbang on Level 1 (Alert) due to hot weather conditions.
According to a MetMalaysia statement issued today and updated at 4.40pm, Mukah, Telang Usan, and Limbang have been classified as having hot weather conditions, with temperatures exceeding 35°C and reaching 37°C for at least three consecutive days.
MetMalaysia defines its hot weather alerts as: Level 1 (Alert) for maximum daily temperature 35°C to 37°C for at least three consecutive days; Level 2 (Heat Wave) for maximum daily temperature exceeding 37°C to 40°C for at least three consecutive days; and Level 3 (Extreme Heat Wave) for maximum daily temperature above 40°C for at least three consecutive days.
The department further advised the public to refer to its website at www.met.gov.my and social media channels or download the myCuaca application to obtain the latest and accurate information. — DayakDaily
