KUCHING, March 18: Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued thunderstorm warnings for eight districts in Sarawak today.
According to a Facebook post at 5.40pm today, the affected districts are Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang.
According to the department, the warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
It added a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue. — DayakDaily
