KUCHING, March 18: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak this evening.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Mukah (Tanjung Manis) and Miri (Subis, Beluru and Marudi).
The warning, issued at 4.20pm today, remains in effect until 7pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
