KUCHING, March 4: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning in several areas in Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms and heavy rain affecting Sarikei (Pakan, Julau and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), and Kapit (Song).
The warning, issued at 2.10pm today, remains in effect until 5pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
