KUCHING, Aug 7: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sarawak this morning by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sri Aman, Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei (Sarikei, Julau, and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song), and Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu) until 3pm today, according to a MetMalaysia notice issued at 11.55am today.
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm per hour that is expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
