MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for Sarawak, expected to last until 4pm today (Aug 9)

KUCHING, Aug 9: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sarawak this afternoon by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, and Mukah until 4pm today, according to a MetMalaysia notice issued at 12.20pm today.

“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
