KUCHING, Dec 9: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for 11 districts in Sarawak until 5pm today.
According to the department in an advisory notice at 2.55pm, the anticipated weather conditions include heavy rainfalls and strong winds affecting Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Pusa, Saratok, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, and Song.
It said a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It also said that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
