KUCHING, Dec 31: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang. The warning, issued at 4.45pm today, remains in effect until 9pm.
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
