KUCHING, Dec 13: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for various areas in Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit (Song), and Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh). The warning, issued at 2.55pm today, remains in effect until 6pm.
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
