KUCHING, Oct 25: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Sarawak this afternoon by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect Kuching, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong (Betong), Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei, and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Dalat, and Mukah), Kapit (Song and Kapit), and Miri (Subis) until 5pm today, according to a MetMalaysia notice issued at 2.40pm today.
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
