KUCHING, March 15: A few Methodist churches throughout Sarawak are having live streaming of their Sunday services due to increasing number of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the state.

Some Methodist churches have also decided to cancel their worship services today due to the Covid-19 situation.

In Kuching, Chin Seng Methodist Church, Chin Daw Methodist Church, and Trinity Methodist Church are having their live streaming of their worship service broadcast via their social media pages on Facebook at 8am and 10am respectively.

In Sibu, Masland Methodist Church and Zion Methodist Church are having their services streamed on Facebook pages at 9am. In Miri, Tudan Methodist Church and Life Lutong are also having their Sunday services broadcasted via their social media pages at 8am.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference (SCAC) president Rev Tie King Tai, in a message this morning, said: “As Covid-19 spreads in Sarawak, we have entered a very critical period.

“Therefore last night we declared today (March 15) as a fasting and prayer day, calling upon all to fast and pray in one accord and in one mind so that we can confess our sins and cry upon God to forgive us and heal this land.

“Besides attending services online and conduct family worship at home, you can use your fasting time to fervently pray to Heavenly Father.”
