KUCHING, Sept 25: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) will be conducting a test of its early tsunami warning siren system at the Bintulu Marine Police headquarters tomorrow (Sept 26).
In a notice today, MET Malaysia said the test is scheduled between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
As such, residents in the vicinity are advised not to panic and be alarmed by the sound of the siren during this period.
Additionally, similar tests will be conducted at Teluk Cempedak Beach in Kuantan, Pahang, from 8.30am to 10.30am as well as at Dungun District housing estate in Dungun, Terengganu, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
MET Malaysia added that the public will be duly informed if there are changes to the test schedule. — DayakDaily
