KUCHING, Nov 23: Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing has revealed that Meradong has never had any low-cost or affordable housing scheme to date.

According to Ding, he had made an application to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for the Rumah Spectra Permata Scheme to be implemented at Kampung Malaysia near the Red Bridge, Bintangor.

“To date, there has been no positive response,” he said during the debate session on the Supply Bill 2024 at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.

Ding also expressed his disappointment on the matter, saying that the 17 affordable housing projects as mentioned in the budget do not include Bintangor.

“I hope the ministry concerned can look into the matter and take remedial actions to include my constituency if possible,” he added. — DayakDaily
